End of another great day!

Paella with shrimp, Mahimahi and chicken

Well, our time here is coming to a close, one more full day here.

The menu tomorrow is Breakfast, I'm making (with our fish), black ahi omelets, with paella rice leftovers (which had shrimp, mahimahi, and chicken). For lunch Fish Taco's (mahimahi), and for dinner, Mahi Mahi in Coconut Milk with Onions and Fresh Basil and probably the rest of the Paella rice. That should finish us off.

 

 

Black Ahi Sashimi

Dinner was awesome, we ate what we could of the Black Ahi sashimi and made a full pot of the paella. So yummy.

Side note, Keith returns to Hawaii on Sat arriving on Sunday, I think. Me, I'm going deep into the rainforest on Saturday, no tv, no inet, no phone. which means no communication until I get to San Jose, CR at the Holiday Inn. If not there then either Florida or Los Angelos. Worse case back home in Hawaii. LOL

We moved to a new room today, still nice, but I miss the privacy of the old room. Plus a family with loud kids drove up at 12 midnight last night so we awoke to screaming kids! So much for peace and quiet.

So if you don't hear from me, I'm deep in the rainforest playing with the wildlife. If I don't come back by the 9th, send out the search party.

The owner has two amazing dogs on property, one pit bull and a pit bull/pointer mix. they are absolutely lovely. Sweetest Pit bull I've ever seen. They have adopted me! LOL
Hamoa is named after somewhere in Maui and Cabuya is named after a small town right outside of Santa Teresa.

Waves still BIG here!

Well, everyone, the waves are still knarly here! Man, you rarely get a break in sets, its non stop butt kickin'. So I had to change boards today, finally got down to a 7' board, really did well paddling out, but the white wash is relentless! Keith did okay on the 7'4" today too. I'm so proud of him, knowing that you're gonna get trashed and still going out. That's courage! LOL

We're enjoying a nice relaxing day here on the mountain after our morning surf session. Keith was so excited to see a huge lizard in the garden today. So cute. Weather is gorgeous today, started out nice and cool, but that sun is starting to get HOT!

Cervice, man, that turned out so good. Have to make that when I get home. Nothing better than eating the fish that you personally caught! Yeah! :) Added tomatoes and avocado to that, omg it was the bomb!

Fishing, Cooking and Surfing

Well, we went fishing this morning caught some nice fish, I caught a Mahi Mahi and a Jack Fish, Keith caught a Jack Fish and a Tuna. From that we gave our captain a fish and 1/2 of the Mahi Mahi for his family. Saved some Jack fish for the guy who helped us on our first day in town, who led us to Santa Teresa after I got stuck down this long 4X4 Hill that I had no intention of backing up. So crossed the river instead. Made a feast of Sashimi for Keith and I, for lunch and tomorrow's lunch too. A large bowl of Cervice with the Mahi Mahi for 20 people and a bit left over for us to eat tomorrow. 6 fillets with the remainders of the Mahi Mahi for our next 2 nights dinner. Made Jack fish with Coconut Milk, Fresh Basil leaves, Onions and garlic, which turned out great also for the 20 people we met tonight. Will make Paella tomorrow with the Mahi Mahi, shrimp and chicken with Saffron rice. I've never made any of this before, no recipe, who knew I could cook Costa Rican cuisine? LOL Everyone loved the food. So stoked.

After a brief afternoon siesta, since no internet, went through my pics to post, then we went back out in the ocean to surf, the surf was BIG!!!!! Double over head sometimes. The wash here is so destructive, butt kickin to say the least. Big water, big waves, and me on a wide nose board, short, but fat and stubby. NOT a good day for that kind of board. So tomorrow, smaller board, more rocker and less butt kickin for me and Keith. He'll try to epoxy 7'4" that I rode the other day, he'll like that one much better.

Got some surf pics for you, but we didn't want to go out in the massive outer surf area with the camera so you'll get the little inside ones instead. Surf was over head to double over head sets today on the outside. Freaked Keith out when a wave caught him and took him all the way in on his belly. Poor thing shore breaks were killing him paddling out. Me, took me forever to get on an outside wave.

We saw monkeys in our trees right outside our deck. going to u-tube the footage and post some pics too if it'll let me.

Really miss you guys, can't wait to get back to my old surf spot and my surf buddies. I know Ivan and Mike are having a blast in the Philippines, but miss them too.
